Rotating locking mechanism for the second door of the Biohort Europa shed.
Infos
simple design - only two printing parts
90° angle of rotation
seamless design, no visible fasteners or screws
easy adhesive mounting to the inside wall of the door panel
Assembly
Use a simple countersunk screw (e.g. M3x25) to connect both printing parts
2x aluminum poles, 5-6 mm diameter, approx. 1000mm lenght
bending of the poles: bend one end similar to the original door lock. I recommend heating the tip of the rod first and then carefully beginning to bend it
Is there an alternative to bending? Do you have a 3D printer? Congratulations ... You can print a suitable adapter!
Only cut the straight ends of the poles once you have finalized the position of the handle. The length depends on your handle attachment point!
glue the base of the lock with adhesive mounting tape. Insert the rods before final attachment
Print
use support for the overhanging wings!
flat wings are important to ensure good rotation of the bended rod hooks
use ASA or other heat resistant printing material - the shed can get hot in summer time!
