This is a pattern for a 5-pocket leather card wallet.

Notes

• This pattern was tested with 2 oz (0.8 mm) leather and leather a bit over 5 oz (2 mm).

• Included are photos of a wallet made with thinner leather, and a wallet made of thicker leather (the tooling on the wallet could admittedly use a lot of work).

• This pattern was created with 4 mm stitching chisels in mind.

• This pattern is designed for all stitch widths from the edge to be 3 mm.

• The instructions provided here are simple assembly instructions and do not discuss things such as edge finishing or skiving.

• Due to the sharp corners, a brim or glue may be needed to prevent the print from curling.

Wallet Assembly Instructions

1. Trace and cut pieces.

   • 2x Shell

   • 2x T pocket

   • 2x Top pocket

2. Separate the pockets into left and right sets with each consisting of:

   • 1x Shell

   • 1x T pocket

   • 1x Top pocket

3. For each set of pockets, lay the top pocket on the shell against the bottom edge and mark where the top edge of the top pocket is on both sides. This is where the bottom of the lower of the T pockets goes.

4.  For each set of pockets, lay the lower edge of the T pocket against the mark on the shell, with the left and right edges of the T pocket flush with the left and right edges of the shell and glue into place.

5. For each set of pockets, mark a stitch line on the bottom edge of the T pocket, and stitch the bottom of the T pocket to the shell.

6. For each set of pockets, place the top pocket over the T pocket and glue into place.

7. Select the edge of each set of pockets that will make the opening for the middle pocket making sure that when the two sets of pockets are sewn together the selected edges are on the same side.

8. For each set of pockets, take the selected edges for the inside pocket opening and sew from directly above the top of the T pocket to about 10 mm from the bottom edge. Do not sew the other side of the T pockets, at this time.

9. Glue the two sets of pockets together around the edges, except for the edges that are sewn to make the middle pocket opening.

10. Cut the corners of the wallet as desired.

11. Stitch around the 3 edges that are not the pocket opening.
