Quadriga – Modular Cooling Tower for Bitaxe Devices
Quadriga is a compact, vertically oriented cooling tower designed to efficiently cool up to four Bitaxe devices mounted on its sides. The system is optimized for continuous operation and airflow efficiency, making it well suited for sustained mining workloads.
The design consists of two separate 3D-printed components that work together to create a controlled vertical airflow path from bottom to top.
Design and Airflow Concept
Quadriga uses an active bottom-to-top cooling principle:
A 120 mm fan is mounted on the underside of the tower.
Dedicated spacer geometry ensures sufficient clearance for unrestricted air intake.
Cool ambient air is drawn in from below and guided upward through the tower.
Each of the four mounted Bitaxe devices is cooled directly at the rear side, where most heat is dissipated.
Warm air exits through a top exhaust opening, preventing heat accumulation.
This airflow path ensures uniform cooling across all mounted devices while minimizing recirculation of warm air.
Modular Two-Part Construction
Quadriga consists of two individual 3D models:
Main Tower Body
Holds up to four Bitaxe devices on its sides
Provides structural rigidity and defined airflow channels
Includes the top exhaust opening
Bottom Spacer / Fan Mount
Designed for standard 120 mm fans
Creates the necessary ground clearance for optimal air intake
Mechanically decouples the fan from the main body if desired
This separation simplifies printing, allows material customization, and makes fan replacement or modification straightforward.
