Summary
After hearing the idea to use a drone to help TP a house, I decided to design such a thing for 3D printing to help all humankind.
This design is for US-sized toilet paper rolls, and the mounting adapter was designed specifically for the DJI Phantom 3. However, I've included the original Sketchup design file for anyone to adapt it for other TP and/or drone sizes.
Basically, print the mount as solid as possible for strength considerations and the TP spindles with just a couple shells and 10-15% infill for balancing strength and weight. I've included versions of the mount and spindle with and without some minimal supports as most of the overhanging areas can print fine with the bridging that normal printers can do. Lastly, you need to use some velcro or zip ties to attach the TP mount to the landing gear on the drone.
When using two equal size rolls, the drone should be stable enough for regular launching. Once you pull some of the toilet paper down from the rolls, the downdraft from the drone will help continue the motion to unspool the rest of the toilet paper.
I'll say this is a work-in-progress since I have flight-tested my drone with the toilet paper but haven't actually TP'ed anyone's house yet (video to follow!).
