From the moment I created and published the model for the kitchen towel roll holder, I never imagined it would resonate with so many people. Sometimes you create something that seems insignificant and don't expect that anyone else might need it.
I personally enjoyed using this tool as well. However, I soon noticed a minor flaw: if you tore off a sheet of the towel abruptly, the roll would sometimes fall out. I had to hold the roll with my hand to prevent this. That's how the idea for redesigning the model was born. I felt responsible for the satisfaction of those who downloaded and planned to print this model. Therefore, I strongly recommend everyone who hasn't printed it yet to use Version 2.
In this version, I implemented a large thread for the bushings and screws, which also serve as rotation axes. I also added two mounting options for the holder: a vertical one for under cabinets and a horizontal one for wall mounting.
The files are prepared in both STEP and STL formats. For those who are not familiar with the STEP format, I created ready-made printing profiles for Bambu Lab printer users. You just need to choose the appropriate build plate with the parts and start printing. Naturally, when choosing plastic, consider your own preferences; for example, I use plastic from eSUN.
This redesign aims to provide a more reliable and convenient use of the holder, ensuring that the towel roll is securely fastened, making it more ergonomic and user-friendly.
