I designed a few simple roof pieces to complement the amazing blacksmith shop model created by Chris. To give the rooftops a more realistic asphalt-like texture, I printed them on a textured build plate. Sure, we could just cut some styrene or cardstock—but where’s the fun in that when we've got a 3D printer?

My go-to print settings for textured surfaces:

• First layer height: 0.2 mm
• Layer height: 0.1 or 0.2 mm
• Top surfaces: Single wall
• First layer: Single wall
• Bottom surface: Hilbert curve (great as an extra texture or alternative to a textured plate)
