Update on July 15th: Due to some useful feedback, I realized that there was a proportional issue with my original "tall front wall" tower, which meant it didn't match the shield. However, only that tower had the problem - everything else was compatible. When creating the STL, I forgot to increase the dimensions by 2%, just like the original tower. Updated on May 22: I added a version with a taller wall in front to try to prevent the dice from popping out. The STL file is in the model files. I will also release an additional shield. If you have already made the tower and want to modify it rather than reprinting it entirely, you can print it.

A modified version of the existing OTank/Essing dice tower, which can be printed without any support and is suitable for larger dice.
When my husband received the invitation to his first DND game, I knew it was time to make a dice tower! As you can see from my other uploads, The Lord of the Rings is my favorite, and I knew this tower had to be based on it.The only one.Unfortunately, the comments pointed out that the original version was more decorative than practical - it could only hold small dice, and the dice tended to fly off the base, so some modifications were needed to make it work. The height and base size also limited scaling the entire thing up proportionally, and the scale percentage was just a guess

To improve its functionality, I widened the tower itself while keeping the base size unchangedI need itThe continuous internal disputes over support have led to an unpleasant experience.
So I made some additional changes, hoping to improve the printability - and it really worked! I cut all the "edges" into bevels, and now they can be printed without support and get clean, connected edges. I also cut the bottom of the topmost "wings" at a slightly higher angle, which made the bottom significantly smoother. In addition, I trimmed a small part of the highest tip, because the last few millimeters were too thin and would break immediately during processing. I initially expected that the bridge over the top of the door would still need support, but I tested that part separatelyThe entire tower can be printed without any support.*Your slicer will still detect the overhangs and suggest supports, but I urge you to ignore it and give it a try. The tower is about 250mm tall, with a base width of 195mm, and uses approximately 250g of filament. In my example, there are three different types of filament, which I replaced on different layers
Of course, all these changes have led to aesthetic differences in the appearance of the tower. So if you're a LOTR purist who needs a slim, photo-accurate dice tower, then this isn't for you. But if you want a printable, practical dice tower that's both fun and instantly recognizable, I'll meet your needs. Plus, it can also be used as a jewelry stand or a 3D-printed vase!
