Summary
Designed up this vertical mount for the Biqu Smart Filament Sensor of my Biqu BX. With this mount, you haven't anymore a vertical tension on the print head trough the filament, now the tension is on the PTFE tube. The smart filament sensor cable goes through the aluminium profile with the RGB cable and will connect directly to the X+ terminal of the motherboard (this terminal is the same port as the one on the hotend, see the before last picture)! For the installation, you will need 60cm of 2x4mm PTFE tube between the print head and the smart filament sensor, 15cm of the same tube before the sensor! I fixed the mount with a t-nut and a M3 x 14mm screw on the top rail. I installed a pneumatic connector on the hotend, I recommend to use an empty one, to avoid any gaps in which the filament can be stuck when refilling, see the last picture.
What you will need:
- 75cm of 2x4mm ptfe bowden tube
- a M3 x 14mm screw
- a M3 T-nut
- a pneumatic connector / quick jointer feeding (PC4-M6)
How to activate the sensor:
You will need to send some Marlin commands:
- Activate the sensor: "M412 D250 S1" With D250 you will continue to use 250mm of the filament that is still in the teflon tube!
- Save the settings: "M500"
