Here are some upgraded paddle tires for the Traxxas Slash.
My last design broke, so I decided I would start with an entire new design. This time I made them a bit wider for more traction and to float a little better on snow.
Materials:
PLA: for the rim and rim center (PETG may be better)
TPU: for the paddles themselves
Printing:
Print the rim with the hex hole facing down to get a nicer finish on the part you will see
Print the rim center with the hex facing up.
Print the paddles with the lip facing down to reduce supports
Infill: Rim 15%, Rim center 100%, Paddles 100%
Support: Yes
TPU: You will want to use a hotter nozzle temp for this so that each layer holds better. I used 215 degree for this, but I think I would go up to 220 or 225 if I were to print it again.
Assembly:
First screw the rim to the rim center using the screws as seen in the pictures. Glue the paddles to the rim. I used Shoe Goo on this part and I found it holds very well. Apply the glue as seen in the pictures but I did a solid bead the second time after my first rim design failed which I would recommend.
Please note: Using these may cause damage to you R/C or shoot rocks up at people or anything else.\
I tested these using the slash 2wd on a cheap 3s power system.
