Summary
Inspired by something Mattheu Stern mentioned in a recent video, this is an arca-swiss compatible flat surface to put things on. A bit larger than his, but I just picked a reasonable looking size.
He mentioned using his for 3D scanning small objects, but you could use it for all sorts of things, like when you're out somewhere, have a tripod handy, but nowhere flat/clean/dry to put anything down, for one somewhat strained example.
I thought 'that's a neat solution' and had a quick look to see if anyone had posted one, before I went and reinvented the wheel*. Apparently not, so here we are.

*Not that it took long - the printer's prep time was longer than the import-sketch-extrude-chamfer-extrude design process...
ps; I know, the plate isn't quite centered, but I wasn't that picky.
pps: you could replicate this with the arca plate and a squashed primitive cylinder or cuboid in your favourite slicer...
