These models are based on the internal structure of a peritoneal catheter from Ann & Robert H Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago. Their intended purpose is for medical education and to provide opportunities for medical-themed play. Although a real peritoneal catheter is flexible, this model will only exhibit the rigidity inherent in the material used. It has been tested solely with PLA, but theoretically it could also be printed using TPU to achieve greater flexibility.
