This heating solution is specifically designed for the Printrbot Simple 1403 equipped with an E3Dv6 hot end
Do your printouts tend to curl at the edges easily? Do they frequently fall off the platform in low-temperature environments? Although such issues are rarely encountered in sunny Singapore, as soon as someone turns on the air conditioner and adjusts the temperature to below 25°C, my printed works often "go out of control" — deforming, curling at the edges, and even completely detaching from the platform.
This simple diversion device cleverly utilizes the residual heat discharged from the hot end and directs it to the printing platform. The overall effect can increase the platform temperature by about 3℃—though the increase is not large, it is enough to keep large printouts flat, and small-scale models can also be firmly attached to the platform without the need for complicated installation of a heating bed.
The open vent design ensures that cold air can flow smoothly, avoiding direct blowing onto the printing platform, thus effectively preventing printing failures caused by airflow disturbance.
