Solder paste dispenser 3cc v.2
A new approach to an old idea
When I was making a new nozzle for lubricating the printer, it immediately made a clicking sound - it was time to update the dispenser itself. To be honest, the previous version worked well, but I had a few goals in mind: to improve ergonomics, eliminate unnecessary post-processing, and... see what my printer could really do when it was pushed to its limits.
This is the birth of the v.2 solder paste dispenser - a simple and accurate tool that is truly satisfying to use.
What has changed?
At first glance, there's almost nothing. But this is misleading. The real improvement lies in the details. I completely redesigned the design from the perspectives of ease of use and printing accuracy. For example, I managed to print fully functional M2.5 and M3 threads directly on the printer, without the need for post-processing. Who would have thought M2.5 could be printed? Of course, this requires a finer nozzle and thinner layers. Yes, printing now takes longer, but the results speak for themselves - the parts can be assembled without any filing.






Design and materials
This time, I printed the main body and plunger in PLA, and the feed wheel in ABS. Visually, the use of complementary colors created a contrast that I personally really like. Of course, you can choose your own color scheme. Even with a standard 0.4 mm nozzle, the entire design can still be printed - the only exception might be the threads, which may require some cleaning with a water hose.
What's the deal with the ring?
Good question. Many people ask why there's an O-ring on the auxiliary plunger - an O-ring with small holes and no sealing function. The answer is simple: it prevents the shaft from rotating. When you turn the feed wheel, the threaded rod pushes or pulls the plunger forward or backward, and the O-ring prevents it from rotating. It's a small detail, but it adds a lot of stability.
Why 3 milliliters?
Because it's very convenient. I fill the grease into the syringe once - this amount is just right for a complete printer maintenance cycle. The same 3ml size is also suitable for welding - flux, solder paste, etc. It has a small volume, accurate delivery, and no drying or hardening. Minimalism at its best.
