As Easter is approaching, I decided to take this opportunity to exercise my extremely limited design skills by making an R2D2-shaped Easter egg. Although my design skills and the software I used are quite limited and the result isn't particularly sophisticated or stylish, I'm still quite satisfied with the finished product and think it's worth sharing with everyone.
This R2D2 model is almost a direct copy of MrManBLC's work, with only minor adjustments made to help him achieve smoother and more efficient printing results without the use of support structures. The Easter egg model was modeled from scratch in Tinkercad, with only the hinge part borrowed from Andyosier's resources.
Both models printed quite smoothly for me with a layer height of 0.2mm, a fill rate of 20%, and no need for support. There were no problems with either full-size printing or scaling down to 70% of the original size.
Updated on March 16, 2018 - A new double-sided solid egg model has been added. This version is only for users who need to cut and generate their own exclusive objects; if there is no such need, the file is basically of no practical value, and it is recommended not to print it.
