Manually removing ticks can be a real headache. Anyone who has tried it knows that by the time you part the fur, locate the tick, and carefully reach to grab it, the pet has already started wriggling and struggling to break free. The fur quickly closes up again, forcing you to start over from scratch. This is especially true for impatient guys like Felix at home—he'd just calm down for a few seconds, only to start fidgeting around again, occasionally tilting his head to check on me, worried that he might be ignored. In the past, I used to rely on a traditional manual tool called a tick hook, also known as a "tick twister". One day, I had a brilliant idea: wouldn't it be much more convenient to attach this hook to an electric screwdriver? This way, I wouldn't have to struggle to find the tick in the fur anymore. All I had to do was take a quick look, locate the tick, and then gently twist it off. It was both time-saving and effortless.
So, after having this idea, I specifically bought a small electric screwdriver with built-in lighting - tailor-made for this task. At first, I was thinking of using 3D printing to make an adapter, but then I realized that I had a pile of unused old drill bits at home. So I simply drilled a hole in one of the drill bits and glued in a plastic tick hook. In this way, a compact and convenient tool was completed. To make it easier for more people to refer to, I also took pictures of the whole process of making this drill bit - it might be useful to someone. If you have a 3D printer at hand, you can print an adapter yourself; if not, just do as I did - find an old drill bit, drill a hole, and then glue the tick hook into it - the effect will be just as good!
