Mechanism of this rugged box makes the tools popup for easier access and more convenient handling. It is for a set of 6 chamfering bits sizes 6,3 - 8,3 - 10,4 - 12,4 - 16,5 - 20,5.
The main difference between this box and so many others is more robust locks and hinges, that do not break so easily. And the lifting mechanism of course.
You can check this empty parametric box here:
Additional hardware:
6x M3x35 mm bolts (hinges, locks)
8x M4x12 mm bolts (pop up mechanism)
Printing:
Easy print, no supports, at least 3 perimeters. I prefer to use PETG or ASA but PLA will work too.
You can add your text onto "box-02_lid". Make it 1 mm deep to be the same as the drawing of the chamfering tool already included on the lid. To make it different colour without MMU or AMS just put a pause at layer 6 (1,2 mm) and manually change filament. Than change it back at layer 10 (2 mm).
Assembly:
Use M3x35 bolts to assemble the box itself and M4x12 mm to mount the pop up parts.
Be sure to firstly attach "link-01", "link-02" and "link-03" to the bottom and top of the box and after that screw in the insert.
The bolts screw right into the 3D printed holes. No nuts or inserts. I have this box for several months and it still holds well.
Assembly is pretty simple so just use the pictures below as reference.
A little advice - if you buy the chamfering tools from China as me - use a grinder to make a relief for each cutting flutes tail. They do not include it from factory and it makes a huge difference, when the tool is not rubbing. Even in wood.
