Abstract
I particularly like the flower pots designed by Andres Quijas, but there are no drainage holes at the bottom of the pots. As a result, the roots are prone to rotting due to waterlogging.
However, if you just drill a hole at the bottom of the pot and place the pot on a water tray, it will ruin the original exquisite design aesthetics. Therefore, it is necessary to cleverly hide the existence of the "water tray".
Based on the original design, I added inclined slopes to the bottom of each small unit and installed additional drainage holes. In this way, there will be no more water accumulation at the bottom of the flower pots, effectively preventing the roots from being damaged by long-term soaking.
The bottom plate of the flowerpot is designed to be removable. When in use, you just need to remove the bottom plate, and you can easily clean the drainage groove in the middle. This makes cleaning and maintenance much more convenient.
Moreover, I also had the idea of upgrading this design to a self-watering flowerpot, and maybe I will put it into practice soon.
