So over time and extended use, the control panel of my standing desk got damaged. It got a hole around the 2nd button and cracks started to appear around 1st button as well, so I decided to print a replacement panel from TPU.
The original panel cover was made from transparent PET that was painted on a back side with a few different colors. I've attached photos of the original and damaged panel as well. TPU, unlike PET, has much fewer tendencies for material fatigue, so a new replacement cover has to serve for a much longer period.
I did few models and in the end decided to use the model which appears in the photo, but I've attached some other models that I've tried. In the end, I used a model that supposed to be printed upside down, and contact with build surface supposed to make the model a bit nicer, especially if you have some build surfaces with some nice patterns.
I recommend printing this with 0.2 nozzle since this produces a nicer looking text, but it's possible to print it with 0.4 as well. It also quite important to use slow speed and relatively small volumetric speed for the first layer. This might require a few trials, so I recommend splitting the model into smaller part and trying to experiment with just a small parts to ensure it prints nicely.
This model designed to be printed in 2 colors, and colors supposed to be changed after 0.46 mm of print, so between layers. You can also increase flow on bridges, this would cause some amount of filament to go into the label crevice, which will reduce the size of the cutout.
Labels are using Roboto Extra Bold font from Google fonts, bold font has a bit less issues during prints. I also attached original CAD files (FreeCAD), so the model can be tuned, and it's fully parametric.
