The over-engineered name tags for Alex Drawers. Some Notes Below:
1. There are multiple models, (some require supports, but the easier ones don't. If they need supports, it will say in the filename.)
2. The name tags are done so they can be inserted and easily swapped out as needed.
They were also done this way for anyone who doesn't have a multicolor printer. You can just print with the base color, then pause the printer in the slicer, and swap out the filament for a different color for the text, (making it easier to have colored text on whatever tag you want).
3. Use the “Split into Parts” options to make multi coloring a lot easier, ( The example here is for the Bambu Studios )
4. A blank .step file is included with just in case you want to make your own. I will be adding more labels later, but for now, I just wanted to make the files available for everyone.
5. Lastly, Each piece has a chamfer where it may touch the print bed. This is for anyone who's printer may leave an “elephant's foot” on the bottom of their print. This makes it easier to assemble.
All “name tags” can be interchanged with each model. I did it like this so you can print all the name tags separate and not have to worry about compatibility with different base models.
Base Models Info:
This model: "3-Grip-Fingers.stl" has three fingers on the back so it can help grip the drawer, to help stop them from moving around.
This model: “TPU-Insert-Top.stl” doesn't need supports, but is a different style of TPU insert, slightly harder to print due to different extrusions rates on printers. Just print it, cut off a piece of TPU from your spool, and insert it into the slots provided. May be difficult to get the holes exactly the correct diameter for the TPU insert.
The models with : “More-Clearance” have a very thin top to them. .5mm thinner on the surface illustrated, (I uploaded a photo for reference). These can be used where the labels are too thick and may collide with the drawer above it. But BEWARE, these are thin, so be careful, their bases that are easier to break.
