Print with the smallest nozzle and layer height possible with a brim.  It's a pain to remove the brim, but it fails without it.  I use scarf joints on the seams.

The diameter of the gas port on the barrel I was using this for was ~1.8mm, but port sizes vary depending on your barrel so you may need to resize it.
