Assembly and Use

This simple cable clip was designed to allow USB cables to be hung from the back of my work table. The thickness of my work stable top is 17mm, but the print can be scaled (within limits) to fit other thicknesses. Unlike other cable organizers made to fit a fixed number of cables, each of these clips fits one cable and you can print as many clips as needed, and easily add more clips later.

Using the clip is quite simple - just place the wedge piece (oriented so that the two inner surfaces are parallel) and push it onto the edge of the table top (see photos). 

I made the clip with the intent of using on the back edge of my work table, but of course it can be used on the side and front as well.

Note that there are two minor variations of the print :

• Version 04B - the Clamp and Wedge pieces are separate.
• Version 04C - the Clamp and Wedge pieces are joined by a thin “string” of filament; this allows the slicer to treat the two pieces as one piece, and makes printing multiple copies easier. This also keeps the two pieces together until ready for use.

For my purposes, I hang a number of 2M USB cables off the back of my work table (and connected to my PC under the table). This allows me to grab a cable as needed and pull it onto my work surface, and then let it “retract” out of the way when I am done using it. 

Print Instructions

Print in PLA using the 3mf files provided, otherwise :

• 0.2mm layer height
• 2 perimeters
• 15% rectilinear infill
