Project explanation:

I have been asked to make a lightweight version of traditionnal boat shuttle for loom machine. The goal was to reduce the effort of passing the shuttle while making catalogne blanket. 

Design overview:

The model fit 6" long bobbins. I added protrusion to help manipulationon the shell. There is filament insertion for smooth yarn contact. I use a double tape to stick the shell together but there is room for hexagonal nut. The design suit #8-32UNC screw and nut. I used PETG as print material. The assembly contains 4 printed parts:

1. 0003-00-0001_03 SHELL
2. 0003-00-0002_03 STICK
3. 0003-00-0006_02 BOBBIN
4. 0003-00-0007_03 SPRING
