Works great, easy to install, and it's not going to work its self loose and fall off the machine whenever I step out of the room for more than thirty seconds like a friction fit holder (could).
It's actually gravity driven, and especially in these trying times I've found that gravity is one of the few things in life I've always been able to count on being around when I need it.
Also, I'm not drilling holes in my cover! I just bought the printer used so I'm lucky it even came with the cover, and you never know, some day I might want to sell the thing.
I printed it on the Adventurer 3 with 0.4mm nozzle as shown in the slicer screenshots with eSUN black PLA and flashprint standard print quality, so 15% infill. I think the only thing I changed from the defaults is wall count from 2 up to 3, which I pretty much always do anyway.
Assembly Instructions (this assumes you're done with the printing and post processing):
1) Click the left and right arms on the main. The left arm has a logo on the back.
2) Slide the guide onto the left arm with the word “SPOOL” facing toward the spool. It's a slip fit and you could glue it on but I didn't.
3) Make sure both arms are slid down in the pre installation position as shown in the picture, guide the two side tabs into the slots in the machine and lower the main bottom tab into the lower slot in the machine, as shown in the picture.
4) Enjoy!
