Summary
This thing is an example of what can be done with this new Android app that I've been furiously coding for the last three days. I've just posted the source code and .apk file for the app. Please feel free to act according to the license terms with the software, i.e. remake it, rebake it, recode it, share it, and even make a profit from it - whatever, just keep my name on it and I'm good.
The app gives you a sphere and eight tools plus save stl file button. The tools are additive and subtractive, four each in different sizes. By touching or stroking the sphere you add or subtract clay from it's volume.
Actually it's a repeated gaussian function applied to all vertexes. It's a bit slow and really eats the batteries, but hey it works pretty well so far. And you can make neat things or parts of things like this one!
I have been continuing development of the app and plan to update it from time to time. Enjoy!
Instructions
In case you're not familiar, here is how to load the app into your Android phone (must support 3D). First check the Unknown Sources box in the Security page of Settings, which allows the unsigned debug apk file to install and run. Then get the APK file to the phone somehow, such as email to it or Dropbox it, or whatever and usually your phone will know to install it once you tap on the file in the program that received it. Clear as mud? Good luck.
To use the app, flick on or off the sphere to rotate it, touch, rub, stroke, or otherwise caress the sphere to shape it like clay. Select one of the eight tools from the top. Save and load at the bottom do not work, but save works on my current version so stay tuned.
known bugs: if you tap the sphere really really fast you will have bad luck for seven years... (it crashes or the sphere disappears, not good). Just go slow and be patient. Enjoy!
