Summary
Summary
This is separate Duet front and power input panels for 2020 Kossels or other printers with similar dual-2020 frames. This set of panels has openings or connectors for a mains inlet connector, fuse, on/off switch, light switch, and the Duet electronics. It includes access holes for the Reset and Erase buttons of the Duet 0.8.5 or the Duet WiFi board, along with a thin section for the LEDs on those versions of the Duet to shine through. It can also be used with a Duet 0.6 board. Pick the version with WiFi or the version with Ethernet depending on which Duet you have, along with the separate power inlet panel.
This version differs from the original dc42 design in two major ways, plus a few more minor ways:
- I've added a hole for a circular switch that I use to control an LED light strip on my printer.
- The original design put everything on one panel, but I've split this into two panels, one for the Duet and light switch and the other for the power inlet, power switch, and fuse. This enables me to put the power inlet on one of the back/side panels of my printer, while keeping the controls on the front.
- I've added text over the switches and fuse to identify them.
- My C14 power inlet has two screw holes, so I've added matching holes.
- I've made the pieces fractionally thinner.
This Thing includes three .stl files: One for the power features (PowerInlet.stl), one for the Duet WiFi (which I use), and a third for the Duet 0.8.5 with Ethernet (which I've not tested).
A matching rear panel at http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1617834 supports the back of the board and a 40mm fan for cooling the stepper driver chips in the confined space under the bed. See dc42's blog at https://miscsolutions.wordpress.com for detailed instructions.
Instructions
The inlet parts that this design accommodates are:
- Bulgin PX0575/15/63 low profile snap fit IEC mains inlet (Farnell 469658 or C14)
- Panel mounting 20mm fuse holder (Farnell 9630198)
- Arcoelectric H8553VBNAO illuminated mains switch (Farnell 150388)
- 20mm circular toggle switch
You can get other IEC mains inlets that integrate the switch and the fuse, but I didn't find one that was slim enough to fit in 20mm height.
Before fitting the Duet, check that the Reset and Erase buttons sit properly in the holes provided for them, because if the panel fouls them then you might accidentally erase the firmware and need to re-flash it.
If you need to modify the designs, you can do so with OpenSCAD. Edit the DuetPanels.scad file. Set "WiFi" (line 7) to 1 for DuetWifi or 0 for Duet Ethernet; and uncomment the "include" option on line 22 or 23 (but not both!) to build the Duet front panel or the power input panel, respectively. Some variables are held in those two files, so you may need to edit them, too.
