Ever feel like it is difficult to take chores into account when planning your time? Do you often do chores “reactively”, when you realise that you are behind on them? Do your chores clash with other plans because of that?
I made this gizmo hoping that it would let me remember that certain chores exist and reduce the stress associated with planning and executing them.
Making
- Chore links can be printed on their left/right side without supports
- The board should be printed on its left/right side with minimal supports (to prevent it wobbling during printing)
- You will need 2 generic hooks to put the board on the wall
- You might need sticky labels or something to add text onto the links and the board
"Lore"
I have a planner for daily to-dos and a planner for weekly/monthly stuff, but chores map very poorly onto them. I end up forgetting about them and do them "reactively" which makes life more difficult. I hope that this thing can make these dynamically repeating chores more visible, so that I can plan them appropriately and reduce how much they can conflict with other plans.
Plus I feel like the physical aspect of moving the links around would release some dopamine and make chore management a bit easier.
