Other strap clasps I've seen out there are of 1-piece design where you'll need to sew the end of the strap onto the center bar. This 2-part design can be assembled together without having to open up the end of the sewn loop at the end.

Design is two parts so that when replacing a broken strap re-sewing isn't necessary. Position the straps with the weaving needed and then engage the fit between the two parts for final use. After assembly I coated the adjacent edges with Same Stuff ABS welder. Super Glue will work for PLA.
