Fix your broken VW Lupo window crank using this small plug!

The knob of my car's window crank fell off. Instead of replacing the knob or the whole handle, I designed this small plug that fixes the original knob.

Requirements

VW Lupo with broken window crank. Optionally glue.

Printing instructions

Print with the narrow side facing up, no supports needed. Print with 100% infill.

I used PLA for printing. However, as it gets fairly hot inside cars, consider using a more heat-resistant material such as ABS/ASA.

Assembly

• Remove the whole crank by shifting the plastic on the handle away from the knob, then remove the screw.
• Remove any left over hooks from the knob.
• Ensure that the small white tube is still within the knob.
• Insert the knob into the crank handle.
• Insert the 3d printed plug from the backside. It should sit fairly tight. For better stability, consider using glue to fixate the plug.
• Re-assemble everything.
