A modular, 3D-printed “fabric” made of hexagonal tiles that hook together, drape like cloth, and—when rotated—lock into a stiffer, plate-like surface. Print as many tiles as you want and grow the fabric in any direction.
How it works
Each tile has six connection ports around the perimeter. Neighboring tiles hook together from the side; a short twist engages the snap features. Reverse the twist to restore flexibility. This lets you assemble, shape, then lock sections that need rigidity (e.g., the center of a pad) while keeping the edges flexible.
For a more solid link use the tile named body_with_clip.stl
Why it’s useful
Build flexible pads, bags, or cosplay panels.
Lock specific zones to add structure (tool-rolls, knee pads, camera inserts).
Easy to repair: replace a single tile instead of reprinting a large sheet.
Printing with ABS is recommended.
