My daughter is making a performance costume that needs gold chain mail. She was planning to buy metal rings, spray-paint them gold, then assemble them. After checking the offerings here, I decided it would be easiest to print individual rings with a narrow slot to allow joining them.

This ring is 1/2-inch outside diameter. The slot is wide enough to slip through the slot of an adjoining ring, but narrow enough so two rings don't come apart if the slots are aligned while wearing the chain mail.

I used Cura slicer to duplicate the ring, and I print 50 at a time. So far, I've printed over 2,500 rings, enough for a fabric about 19" x 19". My daughter is busily connecting them into the shape she wants.
