I originally made these after getting an oven with front knobs and having a couple near accidents. We'd brush past it and find burners heating up! I presumed it was just me and my family being clumsy. So I made this design, printed them on my MK3 and have been using them for almost 4 years now.
Turns out it wasn't just me being clumsy, on August 8th 2024 the Consumer Products Safety Commission in the US announced a recall of my Samsung oven and many other similar models. https://www.cpsc.gov/Recalls/2024/Samsung-Recalls-Slide-In-Electric-Ranges-Due-to-Fire-Hazard This recall impacts over 1,000,000 units from Samsung, and other brands, models with front-mounted knobs may benefit too. Samsung's "fix" is to provide free knob lock-outs. So I figure easy to replace printable versions may be of some use.
These should print on an MK4 in about 20 minutes each with about 10g of filament. I used PETG, and have not had issues with warping or bending. One got a little melty when a hot cast-iron pan touched it, but of course, right? Be careful.
OpenSCAD source is included if you need to tweak the fit for your make/model of stove.
