On a recent project, I needed a more secure case for a Raspberry Pi. The project called for a Raspberry Pi to be semi-permanently mounted inside of a cabinet at a public venue. The security needs were as follows.
- Case halves secured together by screws
- SD card fully enclosed to prevent removal
- Case needed to have mounting points
- GPIO pins needed to be easily accessible
There were plenty of options out there, but none had all of the elements I needed. So I spent a few hours modifying an existing case I found here on Thingiverse. I have included the Sketchup file in case anyone else wants to tinker with it more.
I also included printing tabs that help prevent warping. These can be easily removed with a Xacto knife or a pair of needle nose pliers.

Instructions
When printing the case halves separately or in a plate configuration, make sure that support material is turned on. If support material is not turned on, the top plate to the SD cover will not print correctly.
For the bolts, I am using the same ones as specified in the instructions for the Raspberry Pi Case with Hex Bolts designed by SKG. Part number 6374 from BoltDepot.com is a Metric socket cap, Stainless steel 18-8, 2.5mm x 0.45mm x 16mm. These bolts can also be picked up at Home Depot, Lowes or just about any place that sells an assortment of hardware parts.
I also included printing tabs that help prevent warping. These can be easily removed with a Xacto knife or a pair of needle nose pliers.
