Ok, time to share the new Steering system files. I still haven’t been able to get a ton of track time with this, but it works well enough so far on 2 of my chassis.
I tried to make this as simple as I could. If you have a stock yokomo wiper setup, you can use 2 of the 4x8mm bearings and one of the bellcrank posts(Y4-201PA). The assembly is basically the same, just one instead of two. Use an m3x10 or m3x12mm button head screw to secure the post to the mount from the bottom, then attach the mount to the deck in the normal bellcrank holes on the deck, the little bump on the mount faces the back of the chassis.
If you don’t have a bellcrank post and bearings, you can use some 3x8x4mm bearings, I chose flanged (F693ZZ) and then use a 2mm spacer between the mount and bearings to get the height correct and a single m3x22 screw and a nylock nut, don’t over tighten the nylock, it should be snug, but not tight enough to cause binding on the wiper.
The file set include stock style servo mounts, the wiper, the deck mount, and a brace to remove the bulkhead brace/servo mount for SX2 and older style yokomo bulkheads that have 4 deck mounting points.
This steering works in both normal forward servo mounting for the stock wipers, and rear servo setups if you have a way to move the servo back. I have tried these files in normal PLA, PETG, and Carbon Fiber PLA. Carbon PLA is my favorite so far for print quality, strength and ease of support removal. PETG is also very usable. Normal PLA should also be fine, but I would advise against sparkle or glass PLA.
