Instructions
Made with Tinkercad in-browser creator for the #Chess contest.
Rules:
- I thought of these rules but I haven't tried them out. Let me know if they need tweaks.
Setup:
Both players play by setting up their pieces normally. Since there is one side which is a cylinder, the opponent is not really able to see the other pieces, but they can see their own. The trick is to play normally, but once pieces have reached a point where you THINK your opponent forgot what piece is what, you can change your piece's movement into another piece to trick your opponent.
Challenges:
If the opponent feels you are moving a piece falsely, they can issue a challenge. If they catch you in the lie you have to turn the piece halfway permanently to show both players what piece it really is. Challenge of movement can only occur when the player attempts to move the piece. Players are limited in the number of challenges they use - 8 for 'easy', 6 for 'medium', and 4 for 'hard'.
Winning conditions:
If the King moves into check on accident, you may end the game. Otherwise, play until checkmate. When declaring checkmate, attacking player must show all pieces without penalizing the opponent's challenge stock.
On rematch (second game and beyond) I suggest switching the pieces around to a different starting point, furthering the confusion.
I hope I can try this myself some day with a printed copy. Thank you for looking!
