Made in FreeCAD and modified a bit in SculptGL.

The one in the photo was smoothed by coating in Titebond, painted gold with a bit of black in the center for depth and to hide the glue for the pin, and sprayed with several coats of urethane.

Hot glue does work for gluing in the pin, but epoxy is probably a better choice.
