This is a OO scale model of an imaginary (but not totally implausible) ale wagon. These were cattle wagons that were repurposed to transport beer in the 1930s. It seems that breweries didn't actually have their own wagons, but if they did, they might have looked something like this.

I glued the sides and ends together round a base made from a double layer of foamboard, into which I embedded a 10mm nut to add weight to the model. I painted the inside brown before inserting the pre-painted barrels.
I fitted wheels bought from AliExpress and glued the two halves of the chassis together, ensuring that the wheels rotate freely. Once the glue had set, I reinforced the join with cross pieces of thin plastic. For a smoother ride, enlarge the wheel sockets using a 2mm drill, fit "top hat" brass bearings (from Dundas Models) and use metal wheels.
I found lettering and logos for four breweries - Everards, Tetley's, Batemans and Bass. Painted with acrylic paints mixed to match the breweries' colours.
Finished with matt varnish and weathered using powdered pastel crayons
