This medical device is used to create an adjustable resistance when blowing into, which causes the lungs to stretch slightly under pressure. One could also drill a hole on the underside of this trainer which could connected to a pressure gauge via a tube. This would allow the pressure needed to blow into to be set very precisely.
However, the use of this device should always be discussed with a lung specialist in advance.
