A novelty clock face using music notation to denote the hours in quarter-note increments, using a mixture of notes and rests.
The hardware is a cheap chain store wall clock. For very little money you get the clock mechanism, frame, mount hardware, and cover glass. All we have to do is to replace the face, or in fact simply cover it up with our new design.

I taped a sheet of heavy paper (240 g/sqm, i.e. thin cardboard) to the printer bed, adjusted the printer head height to account for the thickness of the paper, and printed the design directly onto the paper. Of course one could also do this using an inkjet or laser printer, but where is the fun in that?

Remove from the printer bed, cut to size, and mount to clock face, after first removing the clock hands, of course. Then replace them, and fit the cover glass.

The layout was done in Inkscape, using the MusiSync font. The resulting SVG file was then extruded using https://svg2stl.com/ to a thickness of three layers.

The clock I used had a face diameter of 185mm - simply scale the design to fit whatever the target size is. Similarly the thickness can be adjusted before slicing, if more or fewer layers are desired. I found 2 or three tend to work well.
