I've wanted to have a Gort figurine for a long time. I decided to remix this so that it would be printable for as many people as possible, and so that it would (as much as possible) remind me of Gort's first appearance in the 1951 movie. By default, this prints at just under 8 inches tall. I've only printed this using PLA so far, but I'm considering slicing for use with ABS so that I can try post production smoothing in an acetone vapor chamber. That may require some finesse, however, because there are a few fine details that might be sacrificed if I give the entire model the degree of smoothing that I believe would make it most attractive.

I would suggest printing this at normal orientation (standing upright) with automatic supports configured. I've also had success by creating custom tree-like supports, with larger supports on the finger tips and chin, but with fine supports for the helmet rim and the visor rim.
