Printing:
(red parts - C-TECH premium line PETG, black parts - Sunlu neat winding PLA)
everything printed with 2 perimeters 10% lines (rectalinear) infill
spring and ratchet should be printed with PETG
propeller
use HIPS or ABS if you can, printed on an ender 3 without an enclosure without issues
print with random z seam to minimize weak spots
light propeller offers better performance, at least with the PETG I used it broke after a few uses.
HIPS WORKS
(most likely ABS as well)
heavy propeller works with PETG but offers significantly lower performance (4 turns = ~1.5 m)
shaft printed with a brim for better first layer adhesion
Assembly
:
follow the video
attaching the handle can be tricky, be sure to have tweezers on hand to help guide filament pins into their respective holes.
white pins shown in the video are bits of filament:
top and bottom plate connections - 4 x 20.6 mm (can be shortened after assembly)
bottom plate, ratchet, handle connection - max 24.2 mm
bottom plate, handle connection - 3 x max 15 mm
glueing:
check if everything works before glueing
glue recommended - for best results use glue
glue optional - not using glue should have minimal effect on function, don't use unless it's coming apart
Use:
wind the spiring by the propeller holder
(your results may differ, “Propeller light”)
3 turns = ~ 30 cm hop
3.5 turns = ~ 2 m
4 turns = wasn't able to measure, highest mostly reasonable amount
4.9 turns = most I was able to get, high chance of damage
attach propeller
push the trigger
repeat
