The original design would show cracks or fail against the magazine spring without any rounds loaded. This new design is more robust, and with the right print orientation can be used with a fully loaded magazine.

The print orientation is very important for the strength of the print. If you form a "U" with the magplate, the base of the U should be oriented against the build plate.
