Summary
The body of my Sony Alpha 7 camera was a little hard to hold. Made a few trys to design this grip extention. Now it lies good in hand even with big lenses.
Will need a washer M6 DIN 125, a 4 mm steel rod with 127mm length and a UNC-Screw for mounting it to you camera. It is necessary to unscrew it to change the battery. On the bottom right on the camera is a 2mm hole. You can use a pice of 1,75mm filament as pin for orientation.
The frustum of a pyramid fits into my tripod
Later on I designed an foot that can be collapsed to make it stand. It stands by itself with the SEL 2870 Lens. The vertical angle can be adjusted by unfolding the foot. For the foot you will need these parts:
- 1x Hexnut M4
- 1x Screw M4x12 DIN 912
- 2x Screw M3x20 DIN 912
