Overview
Bolt-on adapter lets you mount a stick-vac HEPA filter to your printer’s existing carbon/fan box screws. The aim is to cut airborne particles and fan noise while printing. The filter press-fits into the adapter and includes a pull tab for quick removal. (Photo 3 shows the filter after ~150-200 g of red ASA printed over 2-3 hours.)
Can’t find a matching filter?
If the two filter sizes below don’t fit what you have, leave the dimensions in the comments and I’ll generate a model to suit.
Available models
Standard S17 filter – outside Ø 98 mm, sealing Ø 92 mm
Smaller 79 mm filter – compatible with A200/A200 PRO, ORFELD B08/C10A/C10G, NEQUARE S12/S25/S26 (as listed on Amazon)
Note: I haven't printed the smaller adapter as I don't have those filters so if you print one and theres issues please let me know.
Parts required
1 × Filter, although it would be advisable to buy spares as they should be replaced every 2-3 months.
Installation
- Unscrew the 4 screws securing the carbon/fan box to the side panel, to make things easier leave 1 screw in place otherwise the screws can be hard to get back in place as the box will move around.
- Place adapter on the outside.
- Reinstall screws.
- Press fit the filter.
If theres interest I could also do a version that has a deeper tubular outlet to connect piping to use as an extraction vent.
