This mod moves the light bar out to the front of the printer instead of directly above the X Gantry, reducing the shadows created by the original light bar placement. In the photos, my LED Diffuser mod is pictured, which can be found here. 

Printing recommendations: 

This can be printed in any filament, but I used PETG for Mountin Arm L and Mounting Arm R, and PLA for Crossbeam L and Crossbeam R. 

You'll need: 

4 x M4x25 Socket Head Screws 

4 x M4 Nuts

3 x M3x12/16 Socket Head Screws 

2 x M3x8 or 10 Screws

3 x M3 Nuts 

2 x M3 Threaded Inserts (The space for these is a 5mm long cylinder, I used short inserts.)

6 x Zip Ties UNDER 3mm wide. Little tiny guys. These are technically optional, but there are slots on Mounting Arm L for cable management. 

A length of paired wire, or a female to male jumper to connect the light bar to the original connector. I cut the connector from the original wire and patched the new wire between the connector and where I made the cut, but using a jumper or crimping on new connectors would be a cleaner setup. 

Assembly: 

**You should splice your connectors before attaching the mounting arms, to give yourself some extra room to work on the cable without the mounting arms getting in your way. 

**If you are using zip ties for cable management, it is much easier to thread them through the slots before installing Mounting Arm L. Thread them from bottom to top, so the excess zip tie can be pulled down. 

1. Remove the light bar from it's stock position by unscrewing the 3 Philips screws and disconnecting the light bar from power. 
2. Press M3 Threaded Inserts into the two larger holes at the center of Crossbeam R.
3. Use 2 M3 x 8 or 10mm screws to attach Crossbeam L to Crossbeam R, these should mount from the top. Ideally the screws should not protrude from the bottom of the crossbeam, as they will interfere with the light bar if they stick out from the surface. 
4. ONE SIDE AT A TIME - Remove the M4 bolts that attach the top part of the frame to the 2040 Extrusions at the top of the printer. I would avoid removing both at once, to keep from interfering with the Z axis belts and filament runout sensor. 
5. Attach Mounting Arm L and R using the original screws in their original location, making sure the frame stays square. The arm should rest against the frame. 
6. Mount Crossbeam to Mounting Arms L and R using M4 Screws and nuts. 
7. Mount the light bar to the crossbeam from underneath using 3 M3x12 or 16 screws and M3 Nuts. The longer screws will be better if you choose to also include the Light Bar Diffuser Mod, but with these screws it's okay if they protrude, as they should not interfere with anything. 
8. Reconnect power to light bar and secure the excess cable with zip ties. 
9. Stand back, admire the cool thing you've just done, and have a refreshing beverage while you bask in the radiant glow of your handiwork. Good job, sport!
