I used a simple toy quadcopter for this build (have a lot of them). No fancy speedcontrollers, electronics etc... necessary. Although you could do that.
I cut off the ducts and motorholders of the frame and attached everything on the 3d print. This model uses 3.7v small lipos. The quads in the links below are the exact same i used and lipo and controller is included aswell

If you are using an e011/bwhoop style flightcontroller its best to raise the platform a bit extra with a couple of pieces of doublesided foam tape to easily attach/detach a lipo (also acts as softmount)

I used a raft for the bumper part as it turned out to be a little tricky to print.
