I have combined both things to make a threaded adapter for the spray can pole extension. Works with telescoping poles made for paint rollers and threads on securely.

Can be printed standing vertically without internal supports for the threaded portion. Best results will be obtained if the attachement part (outside the main cylinder) is printed with supports, but if your printer handles overhands fairly well, it might be printable with no supports at all.

I used a support blocker in Prusa slicer to prevent internal supports from printing. Makes it a lot easier to post process when cleaning the threads is not required.
