Celtic knotwork is very intricate; this border is a simple example. Look at the ornament with four knots. It is composed of two separate lines, (paths), that extend to infinity in both directions. Start where a knot crosses the edge of the circle and trace along the knots. You will leave the circle on the opposite side having traced two of the four knots.
