Use this to hold your sketching pencils, tools or simply collect PLA scraps and trimmings.

I got tired of sweeping PLA bits off the table, and then having to sweep the floor. This slide-out tray catches everything and with a brush (or piece of tissue paper) I can sweep it all neatly into a small bin or envelope for disposal.

All 3D printed parts except for the 3-inch electrical trunk cap and screws.

***** UPDATE 9 Oct 2015: Centre bracket and clip added, for long installations.

You will need:
2 x M320 screws (M312mm is minimum recommended)
4 to 6 wood/ metal screws to secure the brackets under your table
** Mine is plastic and steel so I used metal screws
1 length of 3-inch electrical cable trunk (just the cap)
2 x M3 Washers (optional)

Print:
2 brackets (1 left, 1 right)
2 Clips (1 left, 1 right -- 3 types to choose from: CLOSED left/right end or open-ended). Print open-ended for the side where you will sweep the scraps off. Or print both with closed ends if you want to use it as a drawer.

Installation:

1. Mark and mount 1 bracket onto table underside.
2. Slide in clip and secure with M3 screw (washer optional) - do not tighten fully, this holds the clip in place but allows sliding action.
3. Repeat for other side.
4. Measure distance between inner-most edge of both clips.
5. Cut trunking cap, insert.
   ** If your strip is short and both clips are closed, you may want to perform step 5 before fastening the M3 screws on the clips (step 2)

For reference, my set up is 89cm wide.
