We had a poorly mounted switch on MCK-Y, the Lego Mouse Droid so I needed to build a new mount for that.

The rocker switch in question is a $2 switch from banggood.

It needs to hang about 4" under the frame of the mouse droid, so I made long arms for it. Turns out they're almost too long, if I reprint it I need about 1/2" shorter. I can barely get my finger between it and the floor and he turned himself off going over a wire cover!

I also threw in a cutout here of just the mounting area in case that was helpful for people to remix or mashup with their own projects (like put it in the side of a case or something).

I measured carefully, so I figured it would "work", but I was amazed that it seemed to fit perfectly, very impressed.

Full disclosure: Gearbest gave me the CR-10 that I printed this with, so I feel sort of obligated to put it through it's paces.

I used Simplify 3D to print. Supports probably aren't strictly necessary, but I wanted the area where the clasp goes in to be pretty clean so I manually placed a support on those two bits.

I printed the long one on its side, with the curvier side down. If you were printing the flat plate, you wouldn't need supports since the hole wouldn't be vertical.

I used 12% infill because 10% just wasn't doing much in the way of criss-crosses when I looked at the preview and I thought it'd be too little.

I usually print in ABS, so that was a bit of a concern with the CR-10. I chose 80C for the platform temperature and 230C for the extruder temp. A different part seemed to seperate a little, so maybe I should've done a higher temp, but those vary depending on filaments, the whim of the gods and all that so I'm sure folks will need to adjust temps for their own preferences.

The CR-10 has a heated bed, but it doesn't have an enclosure. I'm pretty sure that big things would warp in ABS, and was a bit worried about this since it's so long. I think I got lucky because it's a big long "U" shape so it had room to flex?

That said, the bottom feet with the screw holes were printed in vertical layers and weren't exactly straight. I wouldn't have noticed, but I was trying to reuse a screw from another area on the droid and the wobble ate up some of the margin for error in my screw length. We almost couldn't get the nut on. (I could've just used a longer screw!)
