3D model description
I've suffered from quite some cable failures of the thermocouples on my CTC, only use one extruder anyway as calibrating multi extrusion is just too much hassle for the benefit and I regularly switch nozzles. So why not just swap the printhead and have an easy and fast replacement on hand if something goes wrong?
I've created a parametric case that will encapsulate the extruder and routes all connections through ethernet cables that are dirt cheap, easy and fast to replace.
You can follow me for updates to the SCAD Code on Github here, you can also download the newest version there and create the printable parts from it with your specific parameters set: https://github.com/bardiir/parametric-printhead
This is just a preview however, I would currently not recommend you to use this design until some flaws are removed and the ethernet connectivity is easier to handle with a real PCB and not a knot of wires hanging around on the backside of the printhead. Currently the ethernet sockets are from cutting open patch extension cables: https://www.amazon.de/Good-Connections-Ethernet-Patchkabel-Verl%C3%A4ngerung-Rastnasenschutz/dp/B01MZ08FPN/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&qid=1491254672&sr=8-12&keywords=patch+verl%C3%A4ngerung&linkCode=sl1&tag=zrdfghj-21&linkId=81ccfe9c448140748c10ed80bfcae051
Also - a good documentation about the parameters to set is still pending too. You can follow me for updates on this progress.
If you want to contribute please feel free to fork on github and let me know.
